LinumLife is a unique flax ingredient with a concentration of the active elements known as lignans some 10 to 30 times higher than concentrations found in any other form of flax ingredient.  These lignans provide both male and female specific benefits;

From a male perspective, the lignans in LinumLife modulates testosterone metabolism. Specifically, LinumLife inhibits the creation of dihydrotestosterone (DHT); a potent form of the male hormone testosterone. DHT plays a negative role in many different mechanisms in the body, including prostate growth, skin oiliness and hair loss.

From a female perspective, the lignans are scientifically indicated to modulate estrogen levels.  During menopause, the estrogen levels naturally decrease, which leads to symptoms such as hot flushes, insomnia, mood swings and reduced bone-mineral density.  As such, LinumLife can be used in formulations addressing menopausal symptoms and bone health.

On a non gender specific basis,  LinumLife has been clinically tested and shown to reduce oiliness of skin. Sebum is the natural oil excreted by the sebaceous glands in the skin. Excess sebum excretion leads to oily skin and contribute to acne. Sebum excretion is modulated by DHT. Since LinumLife reduces the amount of DHT, less sebum is secreted.

The other main benefit relates to hair loss.  Androgenetic alopecia (AGA) is the most common type of hair loss in men and women. AGA can be defined as a testosterone dependent process.

When a hair is shed, the active form of testosterone (DHT) initiates the miniaturization of hair root and follicle. Lignans balance DHT levels and thereby prevent hair follicles from being miniaturized.
